Princess Kate has broken her silence and expressed her gratitude to the nation for its unwavering support during her recovery from surgery.

The Royal - who underwent a planned abdominal surgery earlier this year and has been out of the public eye since - shared a heartfelt Mother's Day photo with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Accompanying the photo, the message conveyed her appreciation.

"Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months," the post read.

"Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day," signed "C" for Catherine.

The photograph, captured by Prince William, features the princess in good health, surrounded by her joyful children, breaking tradition as she is usually the family's photographer.

Kensington Palace assured the public of her well-being after abdominal surgery, emphasising her slow recovery at Adelaide Cottage with her family.

The annual Mother's Day message aims to address concerns about her health, as the public speculated about her absence.

Buckingham Palace also shared a poignant photo of King Charles with Queen Elizabeth II, commemorating Mother’s Day over the weekend in the UK with a message of peace for all mothers.
