The team had just finished training in Cardiff and were waiting to get on their team bus when it became apparent a royal motorcade was coming through.

Flanked by police on motorbikes, Prince William was on his way to the Fiji-Wales match to be played at Millennium Stadium in the centre of the city. Police had ordered the All Blacks team bus from the street so Prince William's motorcade could pass through unobstructed.

The All Blacks didn't seem too inconvenienced.

Loose forward Liam Messam and other players whipped out their camera phones to gain some impromptu video footage while Sonny Bill Williams cracked jokes.

The rugby-mad Prince acknowledged the All Blacks as he passed by.

"He gave us a wave - that's pretty good," quipped halfback Aaron Smith as the motorcade continued on its way.
