These emotional letters were sent from a young British soldier to his family before he died. They give an insight into life on the front-line for young men.
Back in 2009, the 2nd Battalion, The Rifles were deployed to fight in Afghanistan. Just halfway through its tour, the battalion had already lost nine young young soldiers.
One of those was 19-year-old Cyrus Thatcher. The rifleman was killed by an explosion near Gereshk - he was one of the youngest victims of the Afghan war.
