New PM Chris Hipkins reveals Jacinda Ardern's cheeky message when he became Prime Minster

Chris Hipkins has already been New Zealand's new Prime Minster for two weeks ... making it the perfect time for him to check in with Jono and Ben.

He talked about how he's feeling in his new role as the leader of New Zealand, and he even revealed the cheeky text message he received from outgoing Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

"I was in the car on the way up to the government house to be sworn in by the Governor General as Prime Minister. Jacinda, by protocol, she goes up before me and tenders her resignation," Hipkins explained to Jono and Ben.

"As I was driving up the driveway I got a message from her that said 'Tag, you're it' and that was pretty much the transition. That was it," he laughed.

The PM also shared his thoughts on the National Party's leader Chris Luxon, former US President Barrack Obama, and on looking towards the future for Kiwis.
