Friends star reveals he's spent the last three months hospital

Matthew Perry has spent the last three months confined to a hospital bed.
The 49-year-old Friends actor took to Twitter with the shocking revelation, writing: "Three months in a hospital bed. Check."

According to the actor's rep, Matthew had "recently underwent surgery in a Los Angeles hospital to repair a gastrointestinal perforation."
"He is grateful for the concern and asks for continued privacy as he heals."

A gastrointestinal perforation is also known as a ruptured bowel and can be a potentially life-threatening condition.

It is unclear whether Matthew continues to in hospital or if he has been discharged.
