He's been labelled as the villain of the new season of Married At First Sight Australia, but it turns out it's not Sam Ball's first time playing a bad boy.

Yep ... in a twist we didn't see coming, it has been revealed the TV groom is actually an actor who scored a role on none other than the hit Aussie soap, Home and Away!

So what role did he play?

 A river boy of course!

Sam - who is married to Elizabeth Sobinoff on the reality show - made his cameo in January 2018 during the scene that saw a grieving Ash (played by New Zealand's own George Mason) recruiting the help of the river boys to look for the man (Robbo) responsible for killing his unborn baby.

Footage of Sam's role as an extra has started doing the rounds on social media and of course he was shirtless for the appearance, showing off the signature river boys "Blood and Sand" tattoo.

It does make us wonder if his participation on Married At First Sight Australia is for the right reasons!
