After 116-year-old Susannah Mushatt Jones passed away earlier this week, the title of 'world's oldest person' went to Emma Morano. Her birth date is November 29, 1899 (also 116-years-old) and she was born in Italy.

Now that she's taken the title and is the last living American bor in the 1800s, she's been asked what her secret is.

Her answer?

Three eggs (two of them raw) and 100g of raw steak a day.

Interesting... and gross...

Turns out she was diagnosed with anemia at age 20, and was advised to eat two raw eggs per day. The habit then stuck!

Aside from raw eggs and meat, she credits her longevity with having left a violent husband in 1938, shortly after the death of her only child at the age of seven months.  She remained single for the rest of her life.
