Bob Saget's family share the 'Full House' star's cause of death with his fans

The family of Full House star Bob Saget have shared his cause of death with fans.

The 65-year-old actor and comedian passed away on January 9 and was found in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando Floria.

In a public statement, Saget's family have now revealed that his death was due to accidental "head trauma".

"The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma," the Saget family said this week "They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved."

"In the weeks since Bob's passing, we have been overwhelmed with the incredible outpouring of love from Bob's fans, which has been a great comfort to us and for which we are eternally grateful," the family added.

"Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities' investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us," the family's statement continued.

"As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter."

A funeral for Saget was held on January 14 and was attended by more than 100 of the star's loved ones including Cameron Bure, John Stamos, who shared a touching tribute, Dave Chappelle, John Mayer, Howie Mandel and Kathy Griffin.
