These days you're really risking it if you don't carry your phone charger around with you all day. Because lets be honest we're always on our phones.

We use them so often, that we have to charge them alllll the time!

Forbes has figured out how much it costs to charge your phone per year (because let's be honest, our phones spend a lot of time plugged in!)

But it's REALLY CHEAP.

It costs a measly 62 CENTS a year.

Forbes worked it out and they believe a smartphone with a standard 1,440mAh battery (as found in an iPhone 5) will require 2,000 watt-hours of energy per year.

And that turns out to cost 28 of our English pence, which is 62 NZ cents.

Thank goodness!

iPads however are a bit more pricey to charge. 6 times the cost actually, so still pretty cheap. They require around 12kWh per year, which will cost you approx $3.72 a year. We hope you can afford that!
