Kiwis weigh in on if it's OK to track your family through their phones

It's a tricky subject that balances safety and privacy, but the ability to monitor where your loved ones are is becoming more common and available.

Caller Alex revealed to Jono and Ben that her family uses a mobile tracking app so that they know where their teenage children are when they're out - to make sure they're staying safe.

However, when Alex asked if her husband would add his phone to the tracking app too - things got a little awkward.

So Jono and Ben decided to hear the thought of other Kiwi listeners on the divisive matter.

While some acknowledged that tracking apps did bring a piece of mind - knowing that their partner or children were on their way home from being out and that they hadn't gotten lost or hurt on the way - but others said it indicated a lack of trust and could be a breach of privacy.
