Planning is underway for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's royal wedding, the cost of which is slated to surpass even that of Prince William and Kate's lavish affair.

According to British wedding site Bridebook, the wedding comes with an estimated price tag of around NZ$80 million - about $30m more than Wills and Kate's reported $50m nuptials.

According to the site, this should earn the Royals a spot on the top ten most expensive weddings list.

The site also provided a breakdown of expenses, with the most pricey part being security.

It claims this will include everything from undercover police to snipers and drones, totalling roughly $75m.
